For our sixth annual Data Challenge competition, we are excited to announce Taproot Foundation as our non-profit partner!

The Taproot Foundation drives social change by leading, mobilizing, and engaging professionals in pro bono service. One day they envision all organizations with promising solutions will be equipped to successfully take on urgent social challenges. Nonprofits and social change organizations take on critical issues facing our communities every single day—issues like homelessness, economic inequality, violence, civil rights, and more. But they often do so without access to the marketing, HR, technology, or strategy staff or funding they need. Taproot brings together these organizations with business professionals who volunteer their expertise pro bono. Through this unique collaboration, nonprofit professionals and skilled volunteers work together to build strong infrastructure that supports the organization in achieving their mission.

We also announced this partnership during a general session at Teradata Universe Conference last October in Denver, CO, attended by thousands of conference attendees!

The student teams will get a chance to analyze the real world datasets and business questions provided by Taproot Foundation and submit their findings and results, to hopefully provide some insights that will contribute to the organization's mission and their specific needs. More details can be found on the Data Challenge page, which we will update for 2020 data challenge by mid December 2019.

We would like to thank Taproot Foundation's team members below who have been working with us to get this project underway:
