Regional Update

Thrilled to announce that Mahum Tariq from Teradata GDC Pakistan has joined our Global Academic Outreach team as the first Teradata APAC Academic Ambassador. She is leading academic outreach initiatives for GDC Pakistan and is working towards amplifying Teradata’s technology to the next generation of data analytics professionals. 

Mahum graduated in 2018 with a degree in Software Engineering from National University of Sciences & Technology and joined Teradata as a graduate associate. She has been recognized for demonstrating academic and leadership excellence and is a recipient of Young Emerging Leader Award by U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Google Women Techmakers Scholarship by Google, ACM-W Best International Chapter Officer Award by ACM International and Global UGRAD Exchange Scholarship sponsored by U.S. Department of State. 

She is currently working as an Application Operations Consultant in GDC Pakistan. In addition to her role, she serves as an officer of Teradata Islamabad Toastmasters Club and Women of Teradata, Pakistan. She also volunteers for ICT4D & civic innovation initiatives with Code for Pakistan as a program associate.

January 2020 

Teradata GDC Pakistan conducted Technical Mock Interview Sessions in NUST College for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to help graduating students prepare for interviews.

December 2019

Haroon Kanth (GDC Pakistan Center Head) and Haris Noman (Associate Practice Lead for Managed Services Practice) joined the SDG Hackathon 2019 as mentors. The hackathon brought together a mix of technologists, designers, urban planners, social scientists, NGOs and CSOs, and government, to approach and solve social and civic problems in a new way, using technology, data and digital tools. The hackathon was organized by Jazz, in collaboration with Code for Pakistan and OPEN Islamabad.
 
In the 3-day hackathon, participating teams worked towards creating solutions, learning design thinking, open-source hacking for social good, receiving mentoring and input from domain experts in industry, government and local organizations.

Teradata Talks:  Junaid Jadoon from GDC Pakistan delivered a talk on “Project Management – What Success means,” at NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science on November 12, 2019. Students of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering attended this session.

Junaid Jadoon leads Teradata Global Delivery Centre’s Engagement Practice for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and is also Teradata’s Brand Ambassador for Pakistan. His role involves enabling the Technology Practices to deliver excellence in the end-to-end value chain. He is also serving as the Vice President, Strategy & Planning for Project Management Institute, Islamabad Pakistan Chapter (PMI-IPC). As a Finance, IT & Project Management Leader; he inspires leaders and teams in living up to their potential and creating sustainable high-performance teams.

GDC Pakistan hosted undergraduate students from National University of Sciences & Technology, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science for an industry visit on September 18, 2020.
The students were briefed about Teradata Consulting, Global Consulting Centers, industry and market trends, our practices, services, internships and final year project opportunities for students, L.E.A.P Program for fresh graduates, Women of Teradata and Teradata Cares Program. This was followed by an office tour. This industry visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to interact with Teradata consultants and get to learn more about Teradata’s culture and working environment.

A technical session on Teradata Vantage was conducted at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences FAST. Faculty members and graduate students from FAST attended the session.

Teradata GDC Pakistan was an industry partner at the National University of Sciences & Technology - NUST Job Fair 2019. Our representatives interacted with students and discussed opportunities for students and graduates in Teradata. Over 1000 students from graduating batches of engineering, sciences and business attended the job fair.
